What not to put down your kitchen sink

A simple country kitchen sink
  1. Avoid grease going to your sewer

Don’t pour grease straight down your sink. Once grease meets cold water it solidifies and clogs up the sewer. To help stop your sewer from blocking up, it’s best to install a grease trap before kitchen waste enters the sewer.

  1. Hot water flush

It is good to run some hot water through the sink regularly to melt away grease that’s solidified in your s&p traps which is located directly under the sink.

  1. Run cold with boiling

In saying that, avoid pouring boiling water into the sink. If you’re draining something like pasta, run the cold tap at the same time. Boiling water will make your washers perish sooner.

  1. Plunge it asap

If your sinks are slow draining, it’s best to plunge earlier rather than later.
